Finally we had a chance to go out on sea again today, after 5 days with bad weather conditions. And we certainly were very lucky as we got to watch a group of 7 orcas travelling and foraging in the sunshine and calm waters of Breidafjördur. As we ventured a bit further out towards the tip of the peninsula, we also spotted two Minke whales travelling along the shoreline. We got to smell the Minke whale breath and everybody who was on this tour now knows what a “stinky Minke” smells like! We are planning another trip tomorrow afternoon, so join us on the next tour!

 We had one trip at 1pm today and, once more, did not have to search for long to find two groups of orcas. The first group was busy feeding, with hundreds of birds joining the orcas for their meal. The second group was foraging and after a while got really playful, especially one of the calves. There were a few puffins around, too. Our trips tomorrow and Thursday are cancelled due to bad weather conditions, and we will keep you informed about tours for the rest of the week.

Today we could enjoy calm sea conditions once more as we ventured out in Breidafjördur. After a bit of scouting time we spotted orcas feeding underneath a group of gannets, and soon more fins would appear in the area. Some orcas were very serious in the feeding today, whereas others were just milling and socializing a bit. The puffins are getting more numerous every day, and today we even saw them close to the boat. We are running another tour tomorrow at 1pm, and you can join us on this trip before the bad weather is taking over for a few days.

We had a beautiful tour this afternoon, with two orca encounters in calm waters and including lots of sunshine. It was not hard to spot the orcas as conditions were so perfect, and we even got to see a Minke whale almost in the same area! While we admired the orcas in front of a breathtaking backdrop, we also spotted some puffins and Northern gannets. The weather does not look so nice from Wednesday on, so we are hoping for another good tour tomorrow.

We had one tour today in calm waters and a foggy environment. Shortly after the beginning of the trip we already spotted a group of 7 orcas that was slowly travelling and foraging in the area. After we had looked at them for a while, we scouted towards the West, but did not find any other groups. There were many puffins in the area again, and it was great to see them close up next to the boat as well. We are planning another tour tomorrow at 1pm and you can join us on this trip if you like!

Today we were finally able to go out on sea again! Just a few minutes out of the harbour, some of our passengers glimpsed a single white-beaked dolphin, and once we got further out into the deeper waters, we came across a feeding frenzy with orcas, gannets, and puffins! It was still choppy out there and so we could watch the orcas riding the waves and splashing about. We then also spotted a blow of a bigger whale, but only once, and chose to stay with the orcas after we had not seen this bigger animal come up again. It was a great day out on the water and we are hoping for more orca fun in the coming days!

We had a fun tour today in choppy seas as we spotted a small group of orcas in Breiðafjörður. They were slowly travelling and foraging, often changing directions and sometimes hanging just below the surface. There were lots of puffins and some Northern gannets around as well, and we were spoiled with sunshine!

We had a great tour this afternoon with two groups of orcas in Breiðafjörður. Both of them were busy foraging and went for long foraging dives in between some curious approaches towards the boat. There were several smaller ones in both groups, and with the second group we also got to see lots of puffins! After a very rainy and windy morning, we were lucky to go out during the time of day when the wind was about to calm down, and we even experienced sunshine during the second half of the trip.

We set out in calm seas today in search of orcas, and spotted two different groups along the peninsula. The first group we approached was resting and travelling slowly, while the second group had a bit more action going on. They were travelling fast, and in between they would stop for some foraging activities. We spotted many smaller calves, and there were lots of birds, too – especially puffins and gannets!

We had one tour today at 1pm, and had to do a bit of a longer scout around until we spotted about 7 individuals spread out in the deeper waters. They were travelling slowly, often just below the surface, with their fins slicing through the water. We also got to see puffins and gannets again. The sea was a bit choppy today, but we could enjoy some sunshine, and are hoping for good weather conditions tomorrow again.
